Ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9, aussi connu sous le nom de <strong>GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)<\/strong>, repose sur une \u00e9lectrode en tungst\u00e8ne qui cr\u00e9e l\u2019arc \u00e9lectrique n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la fusion des m\u00e9taux.<\/p><h2 style=\"color: #ff8b4a;\"><b style=\"font-size: 2rem;\">Un m\u00e9tal d&rsquo;une r\u00e9sistance extr\u00eame<br \/><\/b><\/h2><p>Le tungst\u00e8ne est l\u2019un des m\u00e9taux les plus denses et les plus r\u00e9sistants \u00e0 la chaleur de la plan\u00e8te. Son point de fusion atteint environ <strong>3 422 \u00b0C<\/strong>, ce qui en fait le m\u00e9tal pur au point de fusion le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9. Cette propri\u00e9t\u00e9 permet \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectrode TIG de <strong>ne pas fondre pendant la soudure<\/strong>, contrairement \u00e0 d\u2019autres proc\u00e9d\u00e9s o\u00f9 l\u2019\u00e9lectrode sert de m\u00e9tal d\u2019apport. Elle reste stable tout en g\u00e9n\u00e9rant un arc puissant et pr\u00e9cis, ce qui permet de r\u00e9aliser des <strong>soudures nettes, contr\u00f4l\u00e9es et sans projections<\/strong>.<\/p><h2 style=\"color: #ff8b4a;\"><b style=\"font-size: 2rem;\">Pourquoi dit-on qu&rsquo;elle ne fond \u00abnormalement\u00bb pas?<\/b><\/h2><p>Le mot \u00abnormalement\u00bb est utilis\u00e9 parce que, m\u00eame si le tungst\u00e8ne r\u00e9siste \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures extr\u00eames, il peut subir de <strong>l\u2019usure, de la d\u00e9formation ou une fusion partielle<\/strong> dans certaines conditions :<\/p><ul><li>si le courant est trop \u00e9lev\u00e9 pour le diam\u00e8tre de l\u2019\u00e9lectrode,<\/li><li>si le gaz de protection (souvent l\u2019argon) est mal r\u00e9gl\u00e9 ou contamin\u00e9,<\/li><li>ou si l\u2019\u00e9lectrode touche accidentellement le bain de fusion.<br \/>Dans des conditions optimales, l\u2019\u00e9lectrode conserve sa forme et son int\u00e9grit\u00e9. C\u2019est cette stabilit\u00e9 qui rend la soudure TIG si pr\u00e9cise et fiable, notamment pour l\u2019acier inoxydable, l\u2019aluminium et les aciers carbone.<\/li><\/ul><h2 style=\"color: #ff8b4a;\"><b style=\"font-size: 2rem;\">Les diff\u00e9rents types d&rsquo;\u00e9lectrodes en tungst\u00e8ne<\/b><\/h2><p>Il existe plusieurs types d\u2019\u00e9lectrodes en tungst\u00e8ne, diff\u00e9renci\u00e9es par leur composition et leur couleur, chacune adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 un usage sp\u00e9cifique :<\/p><ul><li><strong>Tungst\u00e8ne pur (vert \u2013 WP)<\/strong> : utilis\u00e9 principalement pour l\u2019aluminium et le magn\u00e9sium, souvent en courant alternatif (AC). Il offre un arc stable, mais s\u2019use plus vite.<\/li><li><strong>Tungst\u00e8ne au thorium (rouge \u2013 WT20)<\/strong> : excellent pour l\u2019acier inoxydable et l\u2019acier au carbone, utilis\u00e9 en courant continu (DC). Il d\u00e9marre facilement et permet un arc tr\u00e8s stable, mais contient une petite quantit\u00e9 de thorium radioactif (\u00e0 manipuler avec pr\u00e9caution).<\/li><li><strong>Tungst\u00e8ne \u00e0 la c\u00e9rium (gris \u2013 WC20)<\/strong> : polyvalent et sans radioactivit\u00e9, id\u00e9al pour le stainless et les m\u00e9taux l\u00e9gers. Il offre une bonne dur\u00e9e de vie et un amor\u00e7age facile.<\/li><li><strong>Tungst\u00e8ne \u00e0 la lanthane (bleu \u2013 WL15 ou WL20)<\/strong> : tr\u00e8s populaire pour le TIG moderne. Il convient \u00e0 la fois pour l\u2019aluminium et l\u2019acier, avec une excellente stabilit\u00e9 et une faible usure.<\/li><li><strong>Tungst\u00e8ne \u00e0 l\u2019yttrium (violet \u2013 WY20)<\/strong> : surtout utilis\u00e9 dans les applications industrielles \u00e0 courant \u00e9lev\u00e9, offrant une excellente tenue de pointe.<\/li><\/ul><p>Chaque type d\u2019\u00e9lectrode influence la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019arc, la dur\u00e9e de vie du tungst\u00e8ne et la finesse du cordon de soudure. Le choix d\u00e9pend du m\u00e9tal \u00e0 souder, du courant utilis\u00e9 (AC ou DC) et du niveau de pr\u00e9cision recherch\u00e9.<\/p><h2 style=\"color: #ff8b4a;\"><b style=\"font-size: 2rem;\">Un alli\u00e9 indispensable de la soudure de pr\u00e9cision<\/b><\/h2><p>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa r\u00e9sistance thermique exceptionnelle, sa stabilit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique et la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de ses alliages, le tungst\u00e8ne permet aux soudeurs TIG d\u2019obtenir <strong>des soudures esth\u00e9tiques, durables et d\u2019une grande pr\u00e9cision<\/strong>.
